Three steps, no timeline
Yarn is a script-led video recorder for iPhone. Yarn never asks you to open an editor, drag a clip, or face a blank page waiting for you to be clever. Every step below works with nothing set up, and every control is an override rather than a requirement.
Step one
Talk about it
Hold the button and say what is on your mind. Half a minute is enough. Yarn asks one or two questions if it needs to, then writes five ways to open and a full script in your own voice, timed to be read aloud.
Step two
Read it off the camera
The script sits high on the screen, right next to the lens, one line at a time. You are not memorising anything and you are not looking off to one side. Record again on any section you fluff.
Step three
Post it
Your words become captions, the dead air comes out, and a clean vertical video lands in your Photos. Ready for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn or YouTube.
Nothing is held back
Some video apps let you make the whole thing and then ask for a card before you can have the file. Yarn takes the opposite position on all four counts below, and none of them is a trial that later expires.
No account, no sign up
Yarn has nothing to log in to. The app works the moment you install it, and no email address is asked for at any point.
No watermark
The file Yarn produces is a plain MP4 with your video on it and nothing else. No badge, no end card, no branding.
Your footage stays on your phone
Recording, captions and the finished video are all made on the device. Only the text of your idea is sent away, to write the script.
You pay the AI provider directly
A script costs a few cents, and that money goes to the AI company rather than to Awesomate. We take nothing on top.

What is Yarn?
Yarn is an iPhone app that turns a spoken idea into a captioned vertical video. You describe what you want to say, an AI scriptwriter writes the script, the script appears on a teleprompter over your camera, and the finished video is saved to your Photos. Yarn is built for small business owners who want to post video and dislike being on camera.
Does Yarn upload my videos?
No. Recording, transcription and rendering all happen on the iPhone itself. Your recordings and your finished videos never leave the device unless you choose to post one. The text of your idea and your business profile are sent away to write the script, and that text is the only thing that leaves the phone.
Do I need an account?
No. Yarn has no accounts, no sign up and no subscription. You install the app and it works. Some optional features use your own third party accounts, such as posting through Zernio or having an AI twin read the script, and each of those is your own credential rather than ours.
How much does Yarn cost?
The app is free to download and there is no subscription. Scriptwriting runs on your own OpenRouter account, so a script costs you a few cents paid directly to the AI provider. Awesomate takes no margin on that. Recording, captions and export cost nothing at all.
Can I use my own script?
Yes. Paste or type a script and every other feature still works. The AI scriptwriter is an accelerator, never a requirement, so Yarn keeps working with no internet connection and no AI key.
What does Yarn need to run?
An iPhone running iOS 26 or later. Yarn is iPhone only and portrait only. Yarn is not available for Android, iPad, web or desktop.
What are the captions like?
Captions are burned into the video rather than supplied as a separate file, because most social platforms play muted and a sidecar caption file does not help. Captions are transcribed from your own voice on the device, they are editable before export, and they sit inside the safe area so platform interface elements do not cover them.
